  73. You *are* using an external antenna, right?

  75. PC's make all kinds of RF. I have a Gateway 486-33 at home, 
  76. and I can't have the HT with the rubber duck within 5 
  77. feet of the thing.

  79. When I connect my HT to my Ringo Ranger II on the roof, the noise
  80. goes away. In fact, I can place the HT on top of the PC chassis, 
  81. and it works fine.

  109. One of the things I have found that really helps with this problem is....
  110. wait for it. Disconnect your mouse. Don't believe me? Well try it. I found
  111. that it made tons of difference to my wx sat rx. I must try disconnecting
  112. my printer as well.

  143. I had to disconnect the mouse to connect the TNC to the computer.
  144. So that doesn't appear to be the problem.  And the printer is turned off
  145. for now.  Any other ideas?

  189. I've never build any uhf circuits but what do you need but a tv tuner,
  190. prescaler, phase comparator, mixer and an amplifier. I've seen 2GHz
  191. prescalers and 20 watt 400-500MHz amplifiers in Newark. Minicircuits
  192. sells mixers. Perhaps designing the matching networks is difficult. If
  193. someone has the equipment to analyse at these frequencies I can get the
  194. parts.

  226. The antenna is approximately 10 feet away.  That may be the problem.
  227. I'll try getting the antenna set up outside and see what results.
